Research

Research is the key to progress in the field of science. Healthcare, in particular, needs to come up with ways to deal with up and coming diseases and pathogens. Research is the means through which the human race has adapted and progressed since time immemorial. Through research, and sometimes even serendipity, much of mysteries of the natural world has been uncovered. There is still a lot of mysteries in the universe that science has yet to explain, and research is key to understanding these phenomena.

All of the known scientific laws have been proven through repeated observation and experimentation of natural phenomena. Scientific theories are much the same way, though to a lesser extent. All of the currently established scientific laws and theories began with an educated guess, known as a hypothesis. Through experimentation and proper procedures, the hypothesis can be proven right or wrong.

In the course, the students are to come up with a topic of research to be conducted. A topic must be original, for conducting a research on an already established truth will be a waste of time and resources. After thorough preparation, the experimentation must be conducted in an accurate and precise manner. The results are then published in formal writing.
